 Eggplants

Eggplants have quite a bitter taste that can cause some people to avoid cooking with them or eating them. This article provides some simple solutions to ensure a less bitter eggplant.

Use them to make stew, soup, curry, salads and many more....

Consider avoiding the bitterness by buying younger, smaller eggplants

 

INGREDIENTS 

  • Eggplants
  • Sea salt

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Wash your eggplant thoroughly
  2. Slice or dice the eggplant as required for your recipe.
  3. Place eggplant in a colander
  4. Sprinkle sea salt over the slices or diced pieces.
  5. Leave to sit for half an hour with the salt on the flesh
  6. Remove the salt by washing it off once you are ready to cook 
  7. Press the pieces gently between layers of damp paper to squeeze out excess moisture
  8. Ready to use for any recipe....
