Healthy Chicken Burgers Patties
INGREDIENTS
- 500 gr extra-lean ground chicken
- 50 gr breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons chopped spring onions with the greens
- 2 teaspoons mild mustard
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
DIRECTIONS
- Place the all the ingredients in large bowl. Mix with your hands until evenly combined.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions. Shape each portion with your hands into a patty about: 10cm in diameter and 1.5cm thick.
- Place the patties onto a tray lined with- greaseproof paper. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to rest.
- Chilling the patties will help them hold together when cooked. This also allows the flavors in the patties to blend and develop. If you chill the patties for any longer, increase the cooking time slightly
- Heat the olive oil in a large nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Add the patties to the pan and cook for about 4 minutes on each side. You can also cook them in the oven. Preheat your oven to 200-220* C Fan and cook for 15-20 minutes.
- When ready, remove from heat and serve.
- Serve chicken burgers with rice, grilled vegetables or fresh greens salad.
