Chinese Broccoli with Tofu
INGREDIENTS
- 200g Tofu, cut into slices and dried on kitchen paper
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 300g fresh broccoli
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 3 tablespoon dry white wine
- 1 tablespoon light Soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 4 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
- Salt and black pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
- Make sure the tofu is very dry, and season it well with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Heat oil in a nonstick fry pan and fry the tofu until it’s browned all over, tip it onto kitchen paper to drain.
- Add the broccoli in the pan, stir and fry until the stalks are just tender.
- Add the ginger, garlic and cook for a minute then add the wine, soy sauce, chili sauce and water and bubble everything together, add more water if you need to. The sauce should be glossy and quite thick when it is ready.
- Add the tofu and toss together, sprinkle with sesame oil and sesame seeds.
- Serve with steamed rice.
